Our Story
My beautiful mother, who was affectionately called "Mema" by her grandchildren, never turned down a chance to go shopping and was the ring leader behind countless trips to the mall. Gift giving was her love language, and she enjoyed the hunt for the perfect tokens of her affection as much as she loved the time we spent together doing it.
She gracefully battled Alzheimer's Disease for almost 10 years and throughout her journey, our family came to recognize that the small, daily routines mattered, and maintaining normalcy makes a difference. Shopping was not just a transaction, but rather an opportunity to stay connected to the familiar activities that brought her so much happiness.
Mema's Closet is a non-profit organization created in her memory, that brings an on-site shopping experience to seniors in long term care and assisted living facilities. All items are donated and residents pay nothing. I simply want to offer our elderly community a beloved pasttime and small joys that remain meaningful throughout every stage of life.
